Adding an Instrument rating to any level of pilot certificate opens the world to you regardless of weather conditions. While there are certain times where no pilot wants to fly like bad weather conditions ie: Thunderstorms, Low level fog etc. Having an instrument rating allows you to still fly when the weather is less than ideal. This rating while challenging and new allows you so much flexibility to fly thru clouds or poor visibility.
